Andy Griffith Show whistler dies
Remember the Andy Griffith Show? (I'm not showing my age -- I saw it in reruns.. I'm sure it's still in reruns) The guy that whistled (and wrote!) the theme song passed away on Monday!
Apparently, he was quite a musician! Who knew?

I am showing my age -- I saw the original shows way back on a black and white (mostly snowstorm look) television. Hard to compare that to HDTV. I still remember the little dittie now that you mention it -- amazing what all is stored in the little brain. Glad to hear he is remembered by many ... sad he died.

I love Andy Griffith and for a long time he had about the highest positive Q ratings in the country (percent that know him, and felt favorable about him). I think only Bill Cosby was a little ahead in the Q. His whistler will be missed...
Don't forget that Ron Howard got his start as Opie...

Great great show. I enjoyed it more as an adult than I did as a child when I thought it was boring.

Hey Sue, I remember the original too, and also on black and white tv. That was the most famous whistle ever - very cool.
